We invite you to join us for the 2012 Darwin Cup Racing Carnival on a very special tour that features Australia’s ‘Top End’ Racing at its very best. The tour features two of the biggest race days of the entire carnival, with the bet365 Palmerston Sprint Day and the Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Day - the richest day of thoroughbred racing in the north! The Darwin Cup Carnival has often been referred to as the ‘mini Melbourne Cup’ with the Cup Day alone drawing a crowd of in excess of 20,000 attendees in recent years. As part of our tour, you will be able to experience all the action and excitement of bet365 Palmerston Sprint Day and enjoy lunch in a marquee on Carlton Mid Darwin Cup day. Day 1, Friday 3 August BRISBANE / SYDNEY – DARWIN This morning make your way to the airport for your flight to Darwin. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your centrally located hotel. Later this afternoon, enjoy a harbour cruise with more delightful Northern Territory sights before returning to the hotel in the evening. Accommodation: Darwin Day 2, Saturday 4 August DARWIN After breakfast and a morning at leisure, you will depart from the hotel and transfer to the Darwin Turf Club for a great day at the races. The day features the bet365 Palmerston Sprint, and you can view the action from either the Members Grandstand and Lawn. This evening, you have the option of attending the Qantas Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball, featuring world class entertainment. Accommodation: Darwin Day 3, Sunday 5 August DARWIN Today is a day at your leisure for you to explore Darwin and its surrounding areas. You may choose to enjoy the fun and games at the Calcutta Luncheon or perhaps join one of our optional tours which include a Barramundi Fishing Tour, a Jumping Crocodile Tour or a Kakadu Full Day Tour - the choice is yours. Accommodation: Darwin Day 4, Monday 6 August DARWIN This morning you have time to study the form before being transferred to the Darwin Turf Club once again for a superb day of racing. Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Day is the richest day of thoroughbred racing in the north and is the pinnacle of a unique and exciting racing carnival often referred to as a ‘Mini Melbourne Cup’. Enjoy the racing, a buffet lunch and beverages from the comfort of the Legends of the Straight Marquee. At the conclusion of the card you will be returned to your hotel. Accommodation: Darwin Day 5, Tuesday 7 August DARWIN – BRISBANE / SYDNEY Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the Darwin airport for your return flight home. Accommodation: Darwin		Day 5, Tuesday 7 August DARWIN – KAKADU Depart Darwin early this morning and travel deep into Kakadu National Park. View Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock with our Guide. After lunch board the famous Yellow Water Billabong cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people. Accommodation: Kakadu Day 6, Wednesday 8 August KAKADU – DARWIN This morning stop at Ubirr to view Aboriginal rock art believed to be 20,000 years old. Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles. We have an Aboriginal guide with us and with the special permission of the local people we will be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. There is the opportunity for an optional scenic flight over Kakadu. You will be transferred back to your hotel after the conclusion of your tour. Accommodation: Darwin Day 7, Thursday 9 August DARWIN – BRISBANE / SYDNEY This morning you will be transferred from your hotel to the Darwin Airport for your return flight home.
