Depart your respective city to join your flight bound for Johannesburg. Upon arrival this afternoon you will be met and transferrred to your hotel in the delightful surrounds of Sandton, a northern suburb of the city.

Day 2, Saturday 29 June
SANDTON
After breakfast this morning join a mid-morning transfer to Turffontein Park for an afternoon of racing in the company of local members. Experience racing South African style, at this renowned racecourse which was inaugurated in 1887 by the Johannesburg Turf Club. At the conclusion of the race day you will be returned to your hotel, this evening is at your leisure.

Day 3, Sunday 30 June
SANDTON
Depart on tour to the South African administrative capital of Pretoria, known for its Old World atmosphere. Besieged during the Boer War the city’s Staats Model School was where Winston Churchill was imprisoned during his time as a war correspondent, before escaping to Mozambique. You may visit the Voortrekker monument, an awe-inspiring landmark that dominates the skyline of Pretoria, and the impressive Union Buildings, home of the inauguration of President Nelson Mandela.

Day 4, Monday 1 July
JOHANNESBURG - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Depart Johannesburg this morning by coach and travel across the Gauteng Highveld, passing through mining town of Witbank to Waterval Boven, where you can view part of the historic railway line that linked the Boer Republic to the Mozambique. Your accomodation is at the gate of Kruger National Park, site of 2 million hectares of animal sanctuary, and enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 5, Tuesday 2 July
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Early this morning you will embark on a Game Viewing drive in Kruger National Park, one of the most well known wildlife parks in the world, and experience a personal encounter with wild animals from your small open vehicle. You will be transferred back to the hotel for lunch before returning to the park for the afternoon. The park supports an incomparable diversity of animals including elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros and lion. This is truly the heartland of Africa!

Day 6, Wednesday 3 July
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - SWAZILAND
Today, travel south and enter the independent Kingdom of Swaziland, a former British High Commission territory now ruled by King Mswati III. Stop at the Ngwenya Glass Works before continuing onto the capital Mbabane, where you will visit the Swali Market for curios, artifacts and handicrafts of the people of Swaziland.

Day 7, Thursday 4 July
SWAZILAND - HLUHLUWE
Depart from Swaziland this morning and return to South Africa, travelling onto Hluhluwe, which is set in the heart of Zululand - home of the once feared Zulu Warriors. You will stop en route at various sites of interest before arriving at your unique traditional lodge accommodation.

HLUHLUWE - DURBAN
This morning visit Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, the oldest South African wildlife reserve and is famous for accomplishing what is probably one of the greatest conservation success stories - saving the white rhino from extinction. Continue further to the coastal resort area of Durban, located in KwaZulu-Natal, a delightful South African province set on the shores of the Indian Ocean.

DURBAN
Today you will transfer to Greyville Racetrack for the running of South Africa’s premier thoroughbred event, the Durban July Handicap. A race steeped in history, as the event was first run in 1897. From your reserved seat you will enjoy a full day of racing and experience the atmosphere and colour that goes hand in hand with this popular event.

Day 10, Sunday 7 July
DURBAN
With its sub-tropical climate and carnival atmosphere, Durban is South Africa’s premier holiday resort. Even in winter the sea temperature rarely drops below 17 degrees celsius and therefore it is year-round sun and surf. This morning enjoy a brief tour of Durban and then continue to one of South Africa’s leading thoroughbred farms - Summerhill Stud, located near Mooi River. This stud has bred many South African champions and after a tour of the establishment enjoy lunch in the tranquil setting of Hartford House before returning to Durban.

DURBAN - CAPE TOWN
You will be transferred to the Airport this morning for your flight to Cape Town, which is renowned as one of the world’s most beautiful cities. On arrival you will enjoy an orientation tour of this charming city, with its majestic backdrop of Table Mountain and spectacular coastline on the way to your hotel.

Day 13, Wednesday 10 July
CAPE TOWN
Embark on your tour to visit Cape Point this morning. Travel southward along the Atlantic coast and pass through Constantia Valley, famed for its Dutch homestead architecture. Continue through the fishing villages of Hout Bay and arriving at the Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Your return drive takes you north along False Bay, stopping for lunch en route.

CAPE TOWN
Today is at your leisure in South Africa’s oldest and most cosmopolitan city, with elegant shopping malls, antique shops, art galleries, craft and flower markets. Take the opportunity to visit one of the city’s historical attractions, the Castle which dates back to 1666 and is the oldest building in South Africa, or visit the South African Museum with its fascinating Bushman cave paintings and artifacts.

CAPE TOWN
Depart for historic Stellenbosch in the heart of the wine country just east of Cape Town. You will see many beautiful old Dutch Cape Houses and visit an excellent working winery. After lunch at the winery and a tour of the area, continue to Stellenbosch where you will have time to stroll through this quaint town before returning to Cape Town in the afternoon.

Transfer to Wynberg today, home of the Kenilworth Racetrack - one of South Africa’s premier racing venues dating back to 1802. At the completion of the day’s races, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
