Delve into the many wonders of Rome on an orientation tour today. You may see famous monuments such as the magnificent Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon or St. Peter’s Basilica, and get a glimpse of Ancient Rome through monuments such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus.

ROME
Today you will be transferred to Capannelle Racecourse for an exciting day at the tracks. Located just 10 kilometres outside of the city, the racecourse is dedicated to thoroughbred racing and home to several prominent Group one races, and the Italian Derby. On conclusion of the race day you will be returned to the hotel with the evening at leisure.

Day 6, Saturday 25 September
ROME – MONTECATINI TERME
Travel by coach today and head north to Montecatini Terme, a renowned spa town in Tuscan countryside. This afternoon depart on a sightseeing tour of nearby Florence, birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Here you will visit some of the city’s most revered sites including the Academy which houses the Statue of David, Michelangelo’s most famous piece of art. You will be transferred back to Montecatini Terme at the end of the tour.

Day 7, Sunday 26 September
MONTECATINI TERME
Venture out of town again today and pay a visit to San Rossore, a beautiful parkland setting known for the breeding and training of racehorses, as well as the circular grass course of the San Rossore racetrack. The area also encompasses a nature reserve and national heritage site for its beauty and abundant wildlife. Return to Montecatini this evening where you may enjoy the tranquil and elegant surroundings of the baths.

MONTECATINI – RAPALLO
Depart Montecatini Terme today and travel by coach to the lovely seaside resort of Rapallo, passing through Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower. Today, transfer to Longchamp Racecourse for the running of the prestigious Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. Run on the first Sunday in October over the classic mile and a half distance, thousands of racing fans flock to Longchamp each year to witness what is considered the ultimate test for thoroughbreds.
