Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2, Tuesday 18 May
HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI
Ho Chi Minh City (or Saigon) is Vietnam’s commercial centre and this morning enjoy a walking tour of Saigon’s famous and historic city landmarks including Dong Khoi Street and the former Presidential Palace. Later travel to Chinatown and the remarkable Cu Chi tunnels, a 200km long network of tunnels used during the war.

Day 3, Wednesday 19 May
HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA
This morning travel south to My Tho, gateway to the Delta and Vietnam’s agricultural heart. There, board a boat to one of the islands on the Mekong Delta. Visit a fruit orchard on the island before boarding a smaller sampan that winds along narrow canals. Enjoy local hospitality over lunch with some tea or rice wine.

Day 4, Thursday 20 May
HO CHI MINH CITY – DANANG – HOI AN
Transfer to the airport today to board your flight for Danang where on arrival you will be transferred to the nearby riverside town of Hoi An with sightseeing opportunities enroute that may include the famous China Beach and the Marble Mountains.

Day 5, Friday 21 May
HOI AN – HANOI
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Hoi An. The old town was declared a World Heritage site and remains a well-preserved example of a traditional port city. Transfer to the airport later today for your flight to Hanoi, Vietnam’s gracious capital. Your evening is at leisure in this former capital of the French Indochina.

Day 6, Saturday 22 May
HANOI
Join a half day sightseeing tour of Hanoi today and visit the Ho Chi Minh Quarter. Begin at the Old Citadel and walk the tree-lined boulevards to Ba Dinh Square, site of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Visit the humble house on stilts from which ‘Uncle Ho’ ruled Vietnam until his death in 1969. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 7, Sunday 23 May
HANOI – HALONG BAY – HANOI
Today journey east across Hai Hung Province and around Halong Bay. Transfer to the port for a magical boat cruise around the Bay. Considered Vietnam’s greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay boasts a dense cluster of about 2000 limestone islands. Sail past floating villages and fishermen casting their nets and pearl fisheries. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch onboard the boat before returning to Hanoi later this afternoon.

HANOI – SINGAPORE – AUSTRALIA
Your morning is at leisure to do some last minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping, before transferring to the airport early this afternoon for your return flight to Australia via Singapore.
